California: US technology giant Apple has introduced its first foldable iPhone, marking the biggest design change in the iPhone’s nearly 20-year history. The device starts at $1,999.
The new iPhone folds and unfolds like a book, and when fully opened, its display resembles that of a small iPad. Apple said the company had been working on the foldable design for several years.
Analysts say the foldable iPhone could represent a major innovation for Apple. However, its price of nearly $2,000 could make it a premium and relatively limited product rather than a device aimed at the mass market.
Apple has also unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, along with new features for Siri AI. The upgrades will allow users to search information contained in messages and emails, answer questions, and perform certain tasks on their behalf.
