Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased the electricity tariff by Rs0.52 per unit under the quarterly adjustment mechanism.

According to a notification issued by NEPRA, the 52-paisa per-unit increase will place an additional burden of Rs12.67 billion on electricity consumers across the country.

Consumers will have to pay the additional charges in their electricity bills for September, October and November.

NEPRA stated that the increase would not apply to lifeline consumers. However, the 52-paisa per-unit hike will also be applicable to K-Electric consumers.

It is worth noting that electricity tariffs across the country were increased by Rs0.75 per unit in August under the monthly adjustment for June 2026. The increase was also applicable to K-Electric consumers and was reflected in their August electricity bills.
