KARACHI: A news website producer was killed after unidentified assailants opened fire on his vehicle in the Sohrab Goth area, police said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred near Ayub Goth Sadat Dastarkhwan. The suspects, who were riding a motorcycle, allegedly fired at the vehicle before fleeing the scene. A bullet struck the victim in the neck.
Rescue officials shifted the injured man to a hospital in critical condition. However, he died during treatment despite medical efforts.
Police identified the deceased as Imran Gogan through a card found on him. Initial information suggests that he worked as a producer for a private news website.

Police said Gogan was travelling from Sohrab Goth to New Karachi through Ayub Goth when attackers targeted him. Investigators believe the incident may involve a target killing, but they are examining several possible motives.
