HARIPUR: The investigation into murder of Haripur’s Ayat Noor continued after police recovered the body of a five-year-old girl who had been missing for 15 days. Authorities handed over the body to her family after a postmortem at a local hospital.
It may be recalled that Ayat Noor disappeared from Pathan Colony two weeks ago. She had reportedly left home to play but did not return. Her father later asked police to register a kidnapping case.

Police traced five suspects with the help of CCTV footage, officials said. Officers arrested three of them and continued efforts to apprehend two others who remain at large.

According to police, the arrested suspects identified a well inside a warehouse on University Road. Investigators recovered the girl’s body from the site and moved it to hospital for examination.
Police said the suspects confessed to dumping the body after allegedly assaulting the child. Authorities are conducting further legal and medical proceedings to establish the cause of death and examine the allegations.
Protest for Ayat Noor on GT Road
After receiving the body, Ayat Noor’s family and local residents placed it on GT Road and staged a protest. Demonstrators demanded swift justice and the arrest of all suspects.
The Haripur child kidnapping case has caused anger among residents, while the protest seeking justice for Ayat Noor added pressure on authorities to complete the investigation.
