ISLAMABAD: A total of 119,210 Pakistanis performed Hajj this year under the government Hajj scheme, with overall expenditures reaching approximately Rs139.16 billion.
According to official figures, 77,743 pilgrims opted for the long Hajj package (40–45 days), accounting for 65.2% of the total government quota. Under this package, each pilgrim paid around Rs1.15 million, bringing the total cost to approximately Rs89.4 billion.
Meanwhile, 41,467 pilgrims performed pilgrimage under the short Hajj package (20–22 days), representing 34.8% of the quota. Each pilgrim paid around Rs1.2 million, with total expenditures amounting to nearly Rs49.76 billion.
Among the total government scheme pilgrims, 50,114 were women (43.5%), while 65,182 were men (56.5%).
Under the payment structure, long participants paid Rs500,000 in the first installment and Rs650,000 in the second. Short Hajj pilgrims paid Rs550,000 initially and Rs650,000 in the second installment.
Additional accommodation options were also offered. Pilgrims choosing double-bed private rooms paid an extra Rs200,000 per person, while those opting for three-bed rooms paid an additional Rs67,000.
Officials noted that the total Rs139.16 billion does not include private Hajj schemes. Around 60,000 Pakistanis performed the holy prayers through private operators, with package costs ranging from Rs1.2 million to Rs4 million.
