The court appearance of Anmol alias Pinky, an accused in a narcotics trafficking case, became the center of unusual public and media attention as security arrangements, conduct, and overall proceedings raised eyebrows.
According to reports, when the accused was brought to the City Court, the situation appeared different from routine judicial proceedings. Instead of strict security measures and handcuffing, observers noted a relatively lenient and unusual approach.
Scenes inside and outside the courtroom surprised those present and also raised questions regarding the procedures adopted by law enforcement agencies.
The developments during the hearing turned the case from a routine judicial matter into a widely discussed and controversial incident.
During the proceedings, police requested a 14-day physical remand of the accused; however, the court instead granted initial custody rather than police remand.
Two separate cases have already been registered against her.
Police sources allege that Anmol Pinky is involved in the large-scale trafficking of cocaine worth billions of rupees across the country.
She is also reportedly considered a key figure in a major drug network and is being described by some officials as one of the country’s significant alleged drug traffickers.
