Karachi has unveiled its first floodlit racing facility, allowing car competitions to be held under LED lights at an autocross track located in a private housing society along the Super Highway.
According to details, 100 light towers have been installed along the more than two-kilometer circuit, along with 300 LED lights and four high-mast towers to ensure full visibility during night events.
In addition to autocross racing, a dedicated drag strip has also been developed. The 400-metre drag track supports 200-metre head-to-head races, with vehicles capable of reaching speeds exceeding 250 kilometers per hour. A modern electronic timing system has been installed at the finish line for accurate results.

The facility has been opened in its first phase for multiple motorsport formats, including autocross, drag racing, drifting, buggy ATV competitions and remote-control off-road events.
Officials said the project addresses participation challenges faced by motorsport enthusiasts who are often occupied during the day due to work commitments and extreme heat conditions.
The venue also includes emergency services infrastructure, spectator space for up to 100,000 people, parking, a food court and accommodation facilities.
