Dense fog in several areas of Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has disrupted traffic flow, while the fog has partially affected flight schedules, causing delays for several international flights at Lahore airport as a cold wave is sweeping across the country, with temperatures in Hunza dropping to a frigid minus 20 degrees Celsius.

Due to the dense fog and reduced visibility, the M-2 motorway from Thokar Niaz Baig to Chakri, M-3 from Faizpur to Drahkana, and M-4 from Pindi Bhattian to Sher Shah are closed.

In addition, M-5 from Sher Shah to Sukkur and M-14 from Anjra to Isa Khel are also closed. In various places from Sehwan to Larkana, visibility has been reduced to just 10 to 30 meters.

Meanwhile, near Samaa Satta, a motorcycle rider was killed, and two others were injured in a collision with a truck due to the fog.

Moreover, a severe cold wave continues across the country, with temperatures in Hunza dropping to minus 20 degrees Celsius.

According to a global weather website, the minimum temperature in Hunza was recorded at minus 20 degrees. Early Sunday morning, the minimum temperature in Quetta was recorded at minus 1 degree.

Meanwhile, temperatures in Islamabad were recorded at 2 degrees, 3 degrees in Lahore, 4 degrees in Peshawar, and 7 degrees in Karachi.

In the upper regions of Hunza and Astore in Gilgit-Baltistan, the bone-chilling cold is severely impacting daily life.
