KARACHI: Pak Sarzameen Party Chairman Syed Mustafa Kamal has demanded immediate removal of the Solid Waste Management Board from the Sindh government.
Talking to media, Mustafa Kamal said that Mayor Karachi and the district administration are responsible for the disposal of garbage and its machinery.
The former mayor said, “If the Sindh government will eliminate the Solid Waste Management Board then the mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar will not be able to justify not picking up the garbage because he is responsible for cleaning in Karachi.”
Mustafa Kamal also offered his logistics to clear Karachi and asked that he be granted the same resources to clean the city within three months.
Kamal said that the current unhygienic situation of Karachi was the true reflection of the federal, provincial and the local government’s failure and incompetence.
He added, “The city, which is the economic engine of the entire country, has unfortunately been ruined by the power lust.”
While talking to media, he demanded that Akhtar’s name should be put on the Exit Control List (ECL). “Mayor Waseem Akhtar has made a lot of property in Pakistan and abroad. A great deal of money will be recovered if his accountability begins,” the PSP leader alleged.
He said that more than 8,000 cleaning staff were nowhere to be seen. Millions of salaries have been given to workers but they stay comfortably in their homes.
Mustafa Kamal said that he has spoken to the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister but no one is paying attention to Karachi’s issues. He requested Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa to visit the metropolis and resolve the city’s problems on an urgent basis.
