Following multi billion-dollar takeover of X (formerly Twitter), tech mogul Elon Musk believes famous Wikipedia is too biased toward left-wing ideologies, feeling the need of an unbiased online encyclopedia. So, his company xAI launches Grokipedia on Monday.
Musk has long been a critic of Wikipedia. In 2024, he accused the platform of being “controlled by far-left activists” and urged users to stop donating to it.

The newly launched site, dubbed version 0.1, featured over 885,000 articles by Monday evening — a stark contrast to Wikipedia’s more than seven million English-language entries.
The debut came with the promise of an upgraded version 1.0, which Elon Musk claimed would be “10X better” than the current platform, asserting that even the existing version is already “better than Wikipedia.”
“The goal of Grok and Grokipedia.com is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. We will never be perfect, but we shall nonetheless strive toward that goal,” Musk wrote on X following the launch.
