It is often said that death can come anytime, anywhere — and a tragic incident in India has underscored this truth.
According to Indian media reports, Shankar, a 40-year-old employee of a private company, died of a sudden heart attack just minutes after requesting sick leave from his boss.
K.V. Iyer, who works as a manager at the same company, shared the heartbreaking story on the social networking site X on September 13.
He wrote that at 8:37 a.m., while on his way to work, he received a message from Shankar saying he was unwell and could not attend work that day.
Iyer advised him to rest, but shortly afterward received a call from Shankar’s phone informing him of his death.
Initially unable to believe it, he confirmed with another colleague that Shankar had suffered a fatal heart attack at 8:47 a.m. — just ten minutes after requesting leave.
The post went viral on social media, where users expressed shock, sorrow, and sympathy over the incident.
