PTI delegation arrives MQM-P headquarter to meet its leaders

KARACHI: A delegation from ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) met with MQM-P members in Karachi on Monday after Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui announced his resignation as federal minister of information technology.
The PTI delegation, headed by Asad Umar, federal minister for planning, development and reforms, reached at the temporary headquarters of the party in Bahadurabad. Opposition Leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi and MPA Khurram Sher Zaman were also part of the government delegation in the Sindh Assembly.

The meeting emerges one day after Siddiqui confirmed that he was resigning from his post as IT minister because the ruling party “didn’t fulfill its promises,” but Siddiqui insisted that his party would continue supporting the government led by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Khalid Maqbool’s announcement came just weeks after the public offer from PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari that the PPP was ready to accept the MQM as a coalition partner in Sindh provided it helped the opposition to overthrow the federal government led by the PTI.
He clarified that MQM-P had backed the PTI government in enhancing the democratic system, but has not seen any serious progress on even one of the many points of the MoU it had signed with PTI to date.
