From Sects to Sunnah

These days, there are so many sects that non-Muslims face difficulty in finding true Islam. Every sect’s cleric presents so many aspects of Islam that the reader or listener becomes confused, wondering what to do.

Some clerics, using modern technology, present their version of Islam through TikTok and YouTube, and as a result, they have become financially very prosperous.

Now it seems that the variety of religious programs in media entertainment has increased. Some clerics make entertainment programs on the topic of marriage, while others create programs by showing terrifying aspects of Islam. Those who divide our youth into different sects always praise their own sects and describe Heaven and Hell as if they know exactly who will go to Paradise and who will go to Hell.

Youth of different sects now understand their sect leaders instead of understanding Islam. Many children believe that whatever their religious scholar says is the only Islam.

Due to these sects, walls of hatred have been built among people. They no longer even marry among each other, nor do they like to meet. These sects have built their own mosques, and in those mosques, they are seen preaching their sects. Now, the situation is such that each sect leader is extremely wealthy, owns properties, and moves around with security guards in luxury cars. One does not see simplicity and humility in them. Yet they preach that our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) spent his whole life in simplicity and humility.

By looking at the inspiring lifestyle of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), idolaters used to embrace Islam. A person only becomes a true Muslim when they live their life according to the Qur’an and Sunnah. It is very important for a Muslim and part of their faith to read, understand the Qur’an and Hadith, and live accordingly.

It is surprising that the Qur’an and Hadith do not mention Shiites, Deobandis, Barelvis, Hanafis, or any other sect names, so why do we believe in these sects? We should only believe in Islam, and the Qur’an and Sunnah are the only identifiers of our religion.

Today, we can be seen fighting with each other by turning various Sahaba (companions of the Prophet) into points of debate, but we fail to reflect on their lifestyle, which was always according to the Qur’an and Sunnah. All the Sahaba always followed the path shown by Allah and His Prophet (PBUH).

Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is our last Prophet and will always remain so, then why are we divided into sects? The Prophet (PBUH) always said, Follow the Qur’an and the path I have shown you, and my path is according to the Qur’an.

Today, all of us should realize that sects hold no importance for us. We are Muslims who follow the Qur’an and Sunnah. We all have one Islam, and we should all live our lives according to the Qur’an and Sunnah. We should not follow any religious scholar, spiritual leader, or cleric who divides us among ourselves. All mosques are houses of Allah for us, and no sect’s stamp should be on them.

If we read the Qur’an with understanding, learn its teachings, and live our lives according to the Qur’an and Hadith, we will neither be disappointed nor will we need any charms or amulets. Indeed, Allah is the One who listens to all and provides for all. He knows every language and even understands the speech of the mute and deaf. Then why do we go to charm-making spiritual leaders? Allah has told us to ask from Him and He will give, for He is the Giver. Allah has also said that if He says to something “Be,” then it becomes. Allah is Forgiving and Merciful, Generous, and He loves His servants very much. That is why He has kept the door of forgiveness open. The decisions of Heaven and Hell, sin and virtue, are in the hands of Allah.

We should all seek solutions to our problems from our Master and Lord, Allah, and ask for help only from Him. Indeed, He listens to every human being.
