A total of 41 Pakistani beggars, including 26 women, have been deported from Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, as reported by national media.
According to a report by Geo News on Thursday, after strict crackdowns, arrests, and deportations of Pakistani beggars in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and other Gulf countries, the majority of them turned to Malaysia.
Over the past three months, Malaysia has deported 41 beggars, including 26 women. An inquiry numbered 304/25 has been registered against them at the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Karachi, and investigations have begun.
According to FIA sources, three verifications and six inquiries were registered at AHTC Lahore in this regard, but no case has been filed. FIA sources also revealed that most of the deported beggars from Malaysia in the past three months were women.
Among these beggars, 16 were from Kashmore, while others belonged to Rahim Yar Khan, Faisalabad, Sadiqabad, Lahore, and other areas. Of them, 21 traveled from Allama Iqbal Airport Lahore, 7 from Jinnah International Airport Karachi, 1 from Sialkot, and 2 from Benazir Bhutto Airport Islamabad.
Twenty-one beggars traveled to Malaysia on visit visas, nine on tourist visas, and others on various types of visas. Among them, three women—Rukhsana, Azeema Mai, and Haseena Khatoon, were offloaded in Muscat and deported, while the rest were caught begging in Malaysia. All these beggars have been blacklisted, and investigations are ongoing.
