Sindh police have started an investigation after Ishtiaq Memon, the assistant controller of examinations at Sukkur IBA University, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his home on Sunday.
According to a report by Geo News, authorities reported that Memon’s body was discovered at his residence in Sukkur Society, and his two sisters were found unconscious.
Memon, originally from Shikarpur district in Sindh, had been residing in Sukkur with his two sisters, as all three were employed in the city.
It was later revealed that relatives forced entry into the house after failing to reach Memon on his phone for an extended period. Upon entering, they found Memon’s lifeless body and his sisters unconscious, leading them to contact the police.
The sisters were quickly taken to the hospital, and police have launched an investigation to determine the details of the incident.
A senior superintendent of police from Sukkur confirmed that the cause of death will be clarified once the post-mortem report is received.
Sukkur IBA University’s Vice Chancellor Asif Shaikh informed Geo News that Memon had been responsible for examination-related duties but was not the officer in charge of the recent Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT). He may have served as an invigilator during the exams.
