A Polish woman, Anna Monika Wajsk, has approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to seek custody of her daughter, whom her Pakistani husband, Adeel Khan, allegedly brought to Pakistan without her consent in 2022, ARY News reported.
In her petition, Anna claimed that Adeel, a resident of Sindh, deceptively took their Polish-born daughter to Pakistan, violating her parental rights. Responding to the petition, the IHC directed the formation of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to locate the child and her father.
According to a report by ARY News on Saturday, the team will include members from the Interior Ministry, Sindh Police, and other relevant authorities.
The court instructed the JIT to trace Adeel Khan using information from the National Database & Registration Authority (Nadra) and to report its findings promptly. It also ordered the placement of Adeel Khan and the child’s names on the Exit Control List (ECL) and the blacklist to prevent them from leaving Pakistan.
According to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Adeel Khan was last recorded entering Pakistan through Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on December 18, 2024, confirming his presence in the country. The case will be heard again on January 21.
