Pakistan has been grappling with terrorism for decades, with attacks targeting civilians, law enforcement, and infrastructure. Despite numerous military operations and efforts to dismantle militant networks, sporadic violence persists, particularly in regions like Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The country’s security forces have conducted successful operations such as Zarb-e-Azb and Radd-ul-Fasaad, significantly reducing the intensity of terrorism, yet the threat remains.
In recent years, there has been a resurgence of attacks, particularly in Balochistan and along the Afghanistan border, where extremist groups exploit instability. This has further strained resources and increased the burden on law enforcement agencies, highlighting the need for more comprehensive strategies to address the root causes of militancy.
