Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Devara Part – 1’ is set to release on Netflix . The movie, directed by Koratala Siva, is an intense action thriller set against the backdrop of a sea and a community.
The film’s OTT rights were sold to Netflix India for a whopping Rs 155 Crore. While the movie is initially scheduled for theatrical release, it will be available for streaming on Netflix two months after its theatrical release.
Directed and written by Koratala Siva, and produced by Sudhakar Mikkilineni and Nandamuri Kalyana Ram, the film is set against a backdrop of coastal lands. Starring Jr. NTR and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles, fans are eagerly awaiting its theatrical and OTT debut. The drama also features a strong supporting cast, including Saif Ali Khan, Prakash Raj, Meka Srikanth, Chaitra Roy, Murli Sharma, and others.
While the film is releasing in theatres on September 27, the premieres in the US will be held on September 26. The film is expected to collect much more since the advance booking for premieres just opened.
Janhvi has signed two Telugu projects after starring in Bollywood films since her debut in 2018 with Dhadak. Apart from Devara: Part 1, she has also signed a film with director Buchi Babu Sana and Ram Charan. Talking to PTI about her debut in the south, she said, “Somehow it makes me feel closer to my mom, to be in that environment, as well as to hear and speak in that language. It just felt like it was the right time, I felt I was gravitating towards it.”
