In a tragic incident in Chichawatni, Punjab, a man has reportedly killed his newborn daughter because he had wanted a baby boy.
According to ARY News, the man married a woman from Okara about 18 months ago, and they welcomed a baby girl on July 8. However, both the father and the child’s grandmother were unhappy with the birth.
The grandmother allegedly took the newborn from the mother and is believed to have killed her. Police have filed a case against the accused, who are currently at large, and raids are underway to apprehend them.
In a related case, a man named Shahzeb shot his 7-day-old daughter in Mianwali district after expressing disappointment over the gender of his first child. Disturbing images have circulated showing the infant, who was shot five times.
