Heavy fog continues in many parts of Pakistan

LAHORE: Dense fog continued to blanket several cities in the plain areas across the country on Wednesday including Lahore, because of low temperatures and humidity, the met department said the fog might remove from Thursday to Sunday.  

According to the met department, fog reduced visibility to just 10 metres in Jacobabad, 50 metres in Multan, Bahawalpur,, Sukkur and Dadu, 100 in Lahore, Jhang, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and RahimYar Khan.

While 200 metres in Jhelum, Toba Tek Singh, Kasur, Khanewal, Larkana and Nawabshah, and 300 metres in Khanpur, and Mandi Bahaudin.

The temperatures remained low because of fog. The minium temperature in majority cities in Punjab around 5 degree C. While it was 4.7 at the Lahore airport.

Astore was the coldest place in the country with -12 degree minium temperature. It wa sfollowed by Skardu, kalam, Gupis, Hunza-7, Parachinar, Kalat -5, malam Jabba, Gilgit, Dir, Rawalkot -4, Quetta -2, and Muree and Kakul -1 recorded.
