The Sindh government has opted to rename four districts within the Karachi Division, aiming for more localized identities.
According to 24NewsHd, the forthcoming changes entail renaming the Karachi West District to Orangi District, reflecting a shift towards localized nomenclature.

Similarly, the Karachi Central District will undergo a transformation into Nazimabad District, a change anticipated to resonate positively with the local populace.
Continuing this trend, the Karachi East District is slated to become Gulshan District, while the Karachi South District will be simplified to Karachi District.
The authorities have decided to maintain the existing names of Malir District, Korangi District, and Kemari District.
