British actor Khalid Abdalla, who has appeared in ‘The Crown’ series, has made a statement on the 75th Emmys red carpet.
The Crown star walked up to photographers in an all-black ensemble, with the words ‘Never again’ written on his left palm, facing the crowd.
The phrase, associated with lessons learned from the Holocaust has recently ‘opened up a fiercely fought debate about the phrase’s true meaning’, The Guardian reported late last year, as the Israel-Hamas war continues.
It’s been 101 days since Oct. 7, 2023, when the Israel-Hamas escalation began, with reports of more than 24,000 Palestinians and 1,200 Israelis killed in the conflict. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is currently hearing a case against Israel, filed by South Africa, accused of “genocidal acts” against Palestinians in Gaza.

Actor Abdalla took to X (aka Twitter) during the Emmys, quoting Martin Luther King Jr., “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
He continued, “Mourn the dead and fight like hell for the living. The dove is from Bethlehem, the scales of justice for everywhere and the [ICJ]. Because all live are sacred.”
He has been making statements in support of an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas since late last year.
