Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was corrupt, unjust, or a criminal against the nation; in all cases, a case could have been logically established against him by bringing charges through legal proceedings. However, what happened with Nawaz Sharif and the actions he took in return with the system were both illogical.
In other words, an elected premier, chosen by the votes of the people, was removed from power, and then Nawaz Sharif, using the pretext of treatment, ended up in London.
After enduring a prolonged period of self-imposed exile, Nawaz Sharif is currently active in political activities in various cities of Punjab. His rally in Quetta also gained traction, where former Chief Minister Jam Kamal and numerous political leaders from the PML-N joined the caravan.
On the other hand, the PML-N in Punjab is busy regaining its mandate from the hands of PTI at a time when Imran Khan has been sent to jail and is being kept away from various cleverly devised excuses.
It seems that for the PML-N, PTI, deprived of its leader Imran Khan, is an easy target, and Nawaz Sharif could easily become the Prime Minister again. However, there is still an expression of sorrow and anger from the public, and it is not without reason.
The public believes that if Shahbaz Sharif’s government, which lasted for over a year, couldn’t address economic issues, how can Nawaz Sharif solve our problems? And Nawaz Sharif’s speech the other day is also significant.
During a workers’ convention in Sialkot, Nawaz Sharif said that whether the Prime Minister changes, is sent to jail, or the country undergoes a bad period, our nation will not be affected. In 2017, our good government was ousted. At that time, we were better off economically than in India.
During the convention, Nawaz Sharif stated that Pakistan was prosperous; the rupee was strong, and there was nothing like inflation. Terrorism and load shedding had both ended in our time. The implementation of CPEC was rapid and the entire country was progressing.
During the convention, the former Prime Minister said that the country was progressing, but a conspiracy was made against us, and the government was overthrown. If the government had not been ousted, today Pakistan would have been a strong country. Was there a need to conspire against the country by making judges a part of it?
Nawaz Sharif said, “Why was there rigging in the elections? Why was the RTS shut down? Those who brought Imran Khan are also equally responsible. With which we had a good relationship for about 70 years, may God forbid, it should never happen with any other country.”
What Nawaz Sharif said during the speech could undoubtedly be the stance of the PML-N. It could be that Nawaz Sharif wants to garner the sympathy of the nation to become Prime Minister again, especially when elections are approaching.
However, the crucial questions raised by the former Prime Minister are significant, and it seems reasonable to say that if Nawaz Sharif had not been removed from the premiership, and if RTS had not been shut down, democracy in the country would have continued in a logical manner, and today Pakistan would have been a better economy.
