DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved the request of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding the World Cup warm-up matches to be played in India.
The official schedule for the World Cup 2023 in India was announced yesterday, according to the schedule, the biggest cricket tournament to be held at the end of the year will consist of 46 days for which 10 places in India have been selected.
The event will start on October 5 while the final will be played on November 19. The first match will be between defending champions England and New Zealand in Ahmedabad, India. Pakistan will play the first match on October 6 against Qualifier One in Hyderabad. On October 15, Pakistan will face India in Ahmedabad.

The warm-up matches before the big tournament will start on September 29 and continue till October 3. The warm-up matches will be played in Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, and Guwahati in India.
A few days ago, the Pakistan Cricket Board requested to change the proposed warm-up match against Afghanistan in the World Cup warm-up matches.
According to the sources, Pakistan said that for warm-up, a match should be played against a non-Asian opponent instead of Afghanistan so that it can be useful for Pakistan.
In this regard, PCB had justified that the Pakistan cricket team would have competed against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup before the World Cup, so it would not be very useful to play in the warm-up match again, so a match against a non-Asian team. Â
The PCB’s request has been approved by the ICC, after which the Pakistan team will now play their warm-up matches against New Zealand and Australia on September 29 and October 3. Pakistan team will play both their warm-up matches in Hyderabad, India.
