WASHINGTON: US Ministry of Foreign Affairs has refused to comment on the progress in Pakistan-Iran relations and the joint opening of the border market.
According to the details, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently inaugurated a 100-megawatt electricity transmission line along with the Pakistan-Iran border market along with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, but the spokesperson of the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not comment on it.
During his recent visit to Balochistan, PM Shahbaz Sharif while addressing the event with the Iranian president said that he had a useful and positive conversation with Raisi. “Pakistan has also pushed proposals regarding CPEC to Iran, he said.
In response to a question asked by the Pakistani media, the spokesperson of the US State Department said, “We are aware of the meeting between PM Shehbaz Sharif and Raisi, but will not comment on it.” He added, “Pakistan and the US have bilateral relations.”

The spokesperson of the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Pakistan’s economic development, energy, and environment are among the US’ priorities in bilateral relations. According to the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs, American companies are investing in Pakistan.
He said that the US has been ahead in investing in Pakistan for the last 20 years. During the last fiscal year, America has invested 250 million dollars in Pakistan. “This helped Pakistan to achieve clean energy,” he maintained.
The spokesperson of the US State Department said that General Electric’s wind turbines, control systems, and equipment are widely used in Pakistan. This will increase Pakistan’s renewable energy potential, he asserted.
