LAHORE: Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan has strongly condemned the arrests and abduction of PTI leaders and workers.
In his message on Twitter, former prime minister Imran Khan wrote, “I strongly condemn the illegal arrests and abductions of our workers and leaders.” he added, “More than a week has passed since our Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Secretary General Asad Umar were imprisoned.
He continued that journalist Imran Riaz Khan is not being produced in court despite court orders and there are confirmed reports of torture on him. “I demand the immediate release of our women leaders, workers, and their families,” he said.
Khan said, “How could Shehryar Afridi’s wife be imprisoned? It is clearly an attempt to intimidate people so that they cannot stand up for their constitutional rights.” He added, “I am deeply saddened to learn about the treatment meted out to Dr. Shireen Mazari and the attack on her daughter by male police officers.”

Khan said, “Even though the Islamabad High Court granted bail to Dr. Shireen Mazari and Senator Falak Naz Chitrali, they were abducted from inside Adiala Jail and transferred to the police station secretariat where Dr. Shireen Mazari was heard screaming.”
The chairman of PTI said, “The brutal treatment of our women workers, the video evidence of which is constantly coming to the fore, is very abhorrent.”
Khan maintained, “Many of our female members of the National Assembly, activists, and supporters are being put in jails across the country in very inhumane conditions.”
Imran Khan said that women members, workers, and supporters are under the abuse of the police. He added, “The abduction of female citizens by the fascist government and the brutal treatment of them is not only a serious violation of human rights but also against our culture and Islamic teachings.”
He said that all these women should be released immediately. According to him. keeping them in constant detention is simply insensitivity. “I am also putting this whole matter in front of international human rights organizations,” he said.
