Muhammad Junaid, the petitioner, took the ground in his petition that Imran had been disqualified from the National Assembly seat NA-95 Mianwali by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Additionally, the petitioner pointed out that Imran had also been disqualified in the Toshakhana case on October 21, 2022. The petitioner highlighted that just like Nawaz Sharif, who was disqualified by the court and subsequently removed as the chief of his party, no one could remain the head of a party after being disqualified.
The petitioner claimed he tried to persuade the ECP to remove Imran from his party’s chairmanship but to no avail. As a result, the petitioner turned to the LHC, seeking directions to remove Imran from his party’s chairmanship.
