Cultural trends and intolerance

Pakistan is a land of diverse cultures, traditions and customs. From the snow-capped mountains in the north to the barren plains in the south, each region is proud of its unique cultural heritage. Culture plays a crucial role in giving individuals an identity in a country as complicated and diverse as ours. Culture conveys societal values, precepts, and beliefs, and it gives us a sense of community.

The most important themes in Pakistani culture are heavily influenced by the Islamic world. Religion is very important in the lives of its citizens because it is a country with a large Muslim population. Islam is an integral element of Pakistani society, from daily prayers to the several Islamic holidays observed throughout the year.

Pakistani culture places a high value on music, dancing, and visual arts. In Pakistan, the classical music of the new pop age has evolved into a dynamic environment. Moreover, this country is well known for its exquisite embroidery, vibrant textiles, and exceptional craftsmanship. Regrettably, there hasn’t been much government support in recent years for the creation and defense of these cultural forms and the attendant social stigma.

Another significant component of the culture is Pakistani cuisine. The rich cultural heritage of this country is well-known around the world. Pakistani cuisine features a variety of flavors, from exquisite kebabs to Biryani. But unhealthy fast food and Western cuisine are also becoming more popular, which contributes to the rise in lifestyle disorders like diabetes and obesity.

The lack of tolerance and respect for others is one of the biggest problems in Pakistani society. Acceptance and inclusion are crucial considering the country’s diversity of ethnic and religious groupings. The government should take action to eliminate the fundamental reasons for privilege and prejudice in order to promote greater education and understanding about diversity.

Last but not least, the culture of Pakistan contributes significantly to the formation of the society’s identity. You feel a sense of connection to the society whose ideals, notions, and tenets you represent. Yet, a number of movements are having both beneficial and bad effects on Pakistani culture.

To rebuild a more accepting society, it is essential to keep the positive aspects of our culture while getting rid of the unfavorable ones. By doing this, we can make sure that our culture continues to grow with our ethnic identity remaining an essential part of it.
