We have not yet forgotten the APS tragedy that the suicide bomb blast in the police line mosque in Peshawar yesterday caused blood bath. The police officers who gave their lives for the sake of the nation were martyred when they were offering prayer.

A section of the country is trying to connect the recent wave of terrorism with the political situation of the country. The said section says that when Imran Khan was staging a dharna in 2014, the Army Public School incident took place.

They say that Imran Khan is still standing in the same place where he left in 2014. If there was no such big terrorism in Peshawar, the attention of the people who closely monitor the country’s politics would have focused on Imran Khan.

However, with the occurrence of a new tragedy, Imran Khan’s hope of returning to politics and the seat of the Prime Minister has died.

On the one hand, there is the monster of terrorism and the worst inflation, which has become a bane of life for everyone without distinguishing between the rich and the poor, while the ongoing political tussle and crisis in the country is not stopping. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s demand for general elections does not seem to be fulfilled soon.

Chairman PTI and former Prime Minister Imran Khan was also attacked, but he narrowly escaped the assassination ttempt. Yesterday, several personalities including Imran Khan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the Peshawar bomb blast.

Security personnel surrounded the blast site and started a search operation. Evidence was collected from the crime scene. Eyewitnesses said that the attacker who blew himself up was in the first row of the mosque.

In the past, the names of banned organizations like BLA and TTP have come up in this type of bomb blast, while the government has been unable to take adequate steps on the results of the investigations into the blasts.

Chairman PTI Imran Khan advised the investigative agencies of the country to improve the intelligence process in his message on the social networking website Twitter after the Peshawar suicide blast yesterday.

Be it the APS tragedy or the deadly bomb blast in the mosque of police personnel in Peshawar, the country’s intelligence agencies and the judiciary must also perform their duties properly so that such incidents never recur in the future.
