LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has taken a principled decision to immediately remove Dost Muhammad Mazari as Deputy Speaker after the Supreme Court ruling.
According to the details, after the ruling of the Deputy Speaker was annulled by the Supreme Court yesterday, the PTI has decided to vote on the no-confidence motion against Dost Muhammad Mazari.
On the other hand, after the seat of the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly became vacant, the Deputy Speaker automatically got the powers of the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly. At least 4 PTI candidates entered the fray for the post of Speaker.
Zain Qureshi, son of former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and newly elected Member of Punjab Assembly, former Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Mahmood-ul-Rashid and Mian Aslam Iqbal are ready to become candidates for the Speaker of Punjab Assembly.
Secretary Assembly Muhammad Khan Bhatti has been appointed Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, the notification of which has also been issued. Nabil Awan, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, was made Principal Secretary to Governor Punjab.
