PML-N sources have claimed that the swearing-in ceremony of newly-elected Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz will be held today.
The swearing-in ceremony of Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz will be held at Governor House Lahore. Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjarani will take oath from the newly-elected Punjab Chief Minister. Sources said that Punjab Governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema was not feeling well. It may be recalled that earlier the Governor of Punjab had refused to take an oath declaring the election of Chief Minister as unconstitutional.

The Lahore High Court had ruled on the petition of Hamza Shahbaz against the refusal to take an oath and directed the President of Pakistan to appoint a representative for taking the oath. Sources said that after receiving the order of the Lahore High Court, the President had sought the opinion of the Prime Minister’s House.
On which it has been suggested to the President that Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjarani should take oath from the Chief Minister of Punjab. It is to be noted that earlier President Arif Ali had also refused to take oath from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the federal cabinet due to ill health.
