Bearish spell ends with 192-point rise at PSX

The index finally closed higher by 192.31 points

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday witnessed a bullish trend with the benchmark KSE-100 index gaining 192 points to close up 0.43 per cent.

The KSE 100 index benchmark sunk by 70.23 points to reach its day’s low of 44,755.74. It then recovered in the second half and after gaining 323.22 points, touched an intraday high of 45,149.19.

The index finally closed higher by 192.31 points at 45,018.28. Among other indices, the KMI 30 index appreciated by 177.24 points (0.24pc) to close at 73,001.88, while the KSE All Share index gained 128.59 points, ending at 30,878.62.

As many as 357 companies transacted shares in the stock market, 208 of them recorded gain and 126 sustained losses whereas the share price of 23 companies remained unchanged.

A total of 394,953,689 shares were traded during the day compared to the trade of 397,696,788 shares the previous day whereas the price of shares stood at Rs13.675 billion against Rs14.855 billion the previous day.
