20 shopkeepers arrested for violating govt’s order in Karachi

KARACHI: At least 20 shopkeepers have been arrested for violating the Sindh government’s order to close business centers soon, to deal with the energy crisis

Numerous shops and showrooms of Pratap Road, Saddar, DHA were sealed for violation of working hours while cases were registered by arresting 20 people from Saddar’s Electronic market.

It may be recalled that the Sindh government had issued a notification on June 17 to close all the markets at 9 pm. Authorities say the action is being taken against all violators.

According to the notification, all markets and shopping malls will be closed at 9 pm while wedding halls, coffee shops, and restaurants will be closed at 11 pm.
