The minister further said the project’s staff and driver training is currently underway and the provincial government would be able to operate the project for a test run in April.
In response to a question, Shaukat Yousafzai said the government had told Supreme Court that the project would be completed in June as a precautionary measure in the event of any delay.
On Monday the Supreme Court had barred the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from probing suspected violations in the Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit project.
A three-member top court bench headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial announced its verdict on the petition of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government contesting a November 2019 Peshawar High Court order directing the FIA to investigate various aspects of the bus project.
