ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the world has to step up to save eight million Kashmiris from the Indian oppression.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi during a telephonic conversation discussed the situation of Indian Occupied Kashmir with his Malaysian counterpart Hishammuddin Hussein. Both also exchanged views regarding the spread of coronavirus pandemic and the measures being taken to combat it.
Qureshi while highlighting the alarming situation in IoK, said, “The world was battling with the coronavirus pandemic but on the other side India is changing the demography in IoK by amending rules and regulations regarding their domicile.”
According to Qureshi, the Indian act of changing the IoK’s demography is not only a violation of international laws but also against the United Nation resolutions.
The foreign minister also briefed his Hishammuddin Hussein about the Prime Minister’s call for restructuring of loans for developing countries to curb the COVID-19 pandemic.

Qureshi earlier urged the international community to raise their voices against the atrocities in IoK. He urged the world to put pressure on India to lift communication restrictions in IoK, enable the dissemination of information and ensure the unfettered supply of daily items to the people.
He appealed the world community to come forward and raise the issue of the detained eight million Kashmiris in the illegally annexed region.
