Pakistan put up a disappointing show against arch-rivals India to be bundled out for a paltry total of 191 in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.
This is Pakistan’s second lowest score against India in ODI World Cup after 180 all-out back in 1999.
Following Pakistan’s debacle, Rawalpindi Express, Shoaib Akhtar slammed Babar Azam and Co for their poor show in the high-voltage match of the mega event.
“What a waste of opportunity on a great batting wicket. Disappointed. Very disappointed,” Akhtar posted on X (earlier known as Twitter).
From 155 for the loss of two wickets, Pakistan were all out for 191 and Akhtar rued the loss of opportunity to post a competitive total on a wicket that was batter-friendly.
Pakistan looked settled for a good total as Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam stitched together a gritty partnership. However, they lost wickets in a heap to be skittled out for a below par score. From 155 for the loss of two wickets, they were all out for 191.
