ISLAMABAD: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and discussed a wide range of issues particularly the law and order situation in the province over recent terror incidents.
During the meeting at the PM’s Office in Islamabad, the prime minister was given detailed briefing on the administrative affairs and law and order situation of the province. He was also briefed on the recent incidents of terrorism in Karachi.
The prime minister said the government will not allow the miscreant elements to disturb law and order situation of Karachi. Both agreed that the federal and provincial governments will work in collaboration for development and progress of Karachi.
The chief minister said that the provincial government was digging deep to unearth causes behind the recent spate of bombings in Karachi.
PM Shehbaz Sharif assured all-out support from the Centre for dealing with the menace of terrorism. The two also discussed the deaths of Chinese nationals in Karachi suicide attack.
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah also conveyed reservations over injustices meted out by Indus River System Authority (IRSA) over water supply.
CM Sindh shared that people and farmers are facing an acute water shortage and IRSA is involved in unjust water supply. He urged PM Shehbaz Sharif to take immediate action against officials involved in it.
The appointment of a new IG Sindh also came under discussion during the meeting. Earlier in the day, Inspector General of Police (IG) Sindh Mushtaq Mahar was removed from his post on the directives of Chief Minister Sindh.
Mushtaq Mahar has been directed to report to the establishment division and BPS-21 officer Dr Kamran Fazal has been given additional charge of the police chief.
