SHANGLA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Saturday that only progress in Punjab is not the progress of Pakistan, but the progress of Pakistan means progress in all parts of the country including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Addressing a public gathering in K-P’s Shangla district, he promised the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa that Punjab will not be the only province that will prosper during his government.
“I will make flour cheaper, sugar cheaper. I will urge every shop to sell flour at cheaper rates. If that’s not possible for them then I will pay to make flour rates cheaper. Sindh, K-P, Balochistan will prosper. Punjab will not be the only province to prosper,” Shehbaz said.
The premier said that whatever he promises he delivers, unlike former Prime Minister Imran Khan who only made false promises to the nation and did nothing for the progress of the country.
“I will never lie to you… I will never make false promises. If I make a mistake I will ask for forgiveness. As long as I have strength, I will toil day and night for your prosperity,” he added.
The prime minister said that former prime minister Imran Khan only made false promises and disappointed the nation for four years. “What he will tell the nation? That load-shedding has increased because he was sleeping? I will ensure that everyone has electricity,” he added.
PM Shehbaz said that poor man suffers due to a lack of medical facilities but he will change it during his tenure. “I will make sure that people receive free medical treatment in K-P and soon across Pakistan. Expenses have risen… in four years they (PTI) took highest loans,” he added.
He said that Pakistan has seen a lot of corruption these past four years and this is not the Pakistan our ancestors had envisioned. “This nation was built on the sacrifices of our ancestors. They must be turning in their graves now because this is not the Pakistan they envisioned. Education is a basic right for everyone.”
He said that the Almighty has blessed Pakistan with an abundance of natural resources but despite all of that, our children cannot go to school. “Crying won’t do anything, we need to act. Hard work, blood, and sweat will ensure the label of beggar does not apply to us anymore,” he added.
Shehbaz said that Pakistan will be a great nation one day but we will achieve it only by working hard, and not sleeping. “We cannot beg endlessly… one day we will have to stand on our own feet,” he remarked.
“I will ask K-P chief minister to decrease the price of wheat in the province. If he doesn’t do that then I will sell my own clothes but make sure wheat price decreases in the province,” he added.
Shehbaz said that wheat will be sold at the same price in K-P as it is being sold in Punjab.
During his address, he also announced establishing a medical college in Bisham as well as a grant of Rs2 billion for development projects in the tehsil.
