The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted heavy rain with thunderstorms in parts of Karachi this evening or tonight.
According to Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz’s forecast, heavy rain is likely to lash suburban areas of Karachi on June 22 or 23. He mentioned that rain is expected in areas surrounding the Super Highway today night.
He said that there is a possibility of “more than normal” rains in Sindh, including Karachi, this month.
The PMD recorded the lowest temperature at 30.5°C and predicted the mercury to rise to a maximum of 36°C to 38°C in the port city.
“The humidity in the air is 75%,” said the meteorology department.
Following an earlier forecast of rain, parts of Karachi received light showers on Friday. Areas including North Karachi, New Karachi, North Nazimabad, Garden, Lyari, Saddar, old city areas, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal witnessed light rain, bringing pleasant weather after a prolonged spell of sweltering heat preceding the monsoon season.
