The trailer of Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film Dhurandhar, releasing on December 5, has arrived, and it raises plenty of eyebrows.
Bollywood is notorious not only for producing anti-Pakistan films but also for making movies offensive to Islam, and Dhurandhar is not the first to be anti-Pakistan. However, this movie stretches fiction so far that it borders on the ridiculous.
The trailer, giving audiences their first full look at Aditya Dhar’s dark, high-octane spy thriller, portrays Karachi’s Lyari as some sort of spy hub. Crazy, isn’t it? Well, that’s not all, there’s more.
The newly released trailer paints Lyari as a battlefield, featuring Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Khanna, and others in key roles.
Arjun Rampal is shown as a major in a Pakistani intelligence agency, Ranveer Singh as a RAW agent, Sanjay Dutt as Aslam Chaudhry, and Akshay Khanna as Rahman the gangster. Ajay Sanyal, modeled on India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, is dubbed the “Charioteer of Karma,” convinced that Pakistan, and specifically Lyari, “must be infiltrated” to end terrorism. Lyari is labeled the “very core of terrorism in Pakistan.”

Then there’s Abdul Rehman Baloch, better known as Rehman Dakait, rebranded here as the “Apex Predator.” The late SP Chaudhry Aslam Khan, a real-life Karachi counter-terror officer, appears as “The Jinn,” portrayed by Sanjay Dutt. At the center of it all is Ranveer Singh as “The Wrath of God,” supposedly sent to “wipe out terrorism” rooted in Lyari.
If you are wondering when did Lyari become a global terror hub and Rehman Dakait and Chaudhry Aslam had something to do with India? You are not alone.
In short, Dhurandhar is just another film that distorts history, while claiming to be “inspired by true events.”
