LAHORE: The price of wheat flour in Lahore has been increased by Rs 4 per kg.
In Lahore, the Mill Owners Association has increased the prices of flour from Rs 72 to Rs 76 per kg. The Chakki Owners Association has said that if the price of wheat is not reduced, the flour will be increased to Rs. 80 per kg.
Secretary-General Chakki Owners Association Abdul Rehman said that the per quintal price of wheat has increased by Rs. 500 and the price of wheat in the open market has reached Rs. 2,300 per quintal.
He said that earlier the price of wheat was available at Rs. 1,800 per quintal in the grain market.
Earlier, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) had permitted the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) to import 200,000 tonnes of wheat, following the import of 500,000 tonnes by the private sector.
