Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has warned citizens against the illegal purchase and use of foreign SIM cards, highlighting the potential risks to personal identity, financial information and legal safety.
Officials said that buying or selling unregistered foreign SIMs is not only unlawful but may also expose users to serious problems.

Calls, messages and other activities conducted through such SIMs can compromise personal and financial data and may lead to legal complications.
Citizens have been advised to purchase SIM cards only from authorized franchises or registered outlets.
They should also ensure that the SIM card is properly registered in their own name to protect their identity and prevent misuse.
Authorities urged the public to avoid illegal SIM channels and follow official procedures when obtaining mobile connections to safeguard their personal information and security.
