WhatsApp is reportedly working on a significant design overhaul inspired by the “Liquid Glass” aesthetic recently introduced in newer versions of iOS.
The new interface is expected to focus on a more modern, transparent, and fluid visual style to offer users a refreshed experience.
Early signs of this change emerged towards the end of 2025 when beta users noticed subtle adjustments in the interface, including minor refinements in the chat screen and the introduction of new elements. However, current reports suggest that much larger and more noticeable changes are now in development and could be rolled out soon.
According to reports, WhatsApp is finalising a new chat interface featuring a floating chat bar and a translucent navigation bar. The aim is to make the app not only more modern in appearance but also more intuitive and user-friendly.
At present, this redesigned interface is not even available to beta testers and remains under internal testing. Meta is reportedly following a phased rollout strategy, which is why many users have not yet received earlier updates.
It is expected that once development is complete, the new design will be released more widely. However, it remains unclear whether the update will initially be limited to iOS users or also extended to Android devices.
