When an overseas Pakistani or a tourist visits Pakistan, the first thing he or she comes in contact with is the chaotic system, broken roads and lawlessness. All these things shout and welcomes him to Pakistan.
Welcome to a land where the laws of physics and principles of science, as well as the laws of the world, do not apply. The greatest principle of policing is bribery and the most beautiful habit of politics is corruption.
Chaos reigns throughout the country. The only rule that really applies to us Pakistanis is that we don’t follow any rule, rather we are sensitive to any law. The country’s politicians have come up with innovative ways of breaking the law that make even seasoned criminals jealous.
Be it embezzlement of development funds, bribery or fraud, our politicians have done PhDs in every corruption and those whom you expect to be more law abiding i.e., lawyers and judges, instead of bringing politicians into the circle of justice, they think of new ways to take them out of that circle.
In fact, not only politicians and lawyers but also common citizens of the country are not behind in this race of lawlessness. They also consider law breaking as the best way to live. Be it breaking traffic signals, driving on the wrong side or littering the roads, we are ahead of every nation in the world in this race.
Foreigners think that Pakistanis probably do all this with a sense of pride because we love breaking the law so much that we don’t shy away from adopting innovative and creative ways of doing it. We make our own rules only to break them with more focus and hard work.
It is necessary that as a nation we should change all these habits and first of all stop raising slogans of Pakistan and adopt law and justice first so that other nations start raising slogans of Pakistan instead of us. Maybe this can be a good solution to all this lawlessness.
