A protest demonstration was held in Karachi’s Do Talwar area to express solidarity with the victims of the Jaranwala incident by the minority community and civil society.Â
Handicap Pastor Javed William also joined the protest to show solidarity with the community. While speaking to MMA News, he stated that he was a pastor but at this moment he wanted to stand with his nation. He said, “Certainly, at this time I’m a Pakistani and I want my nation not to be divided. Therefore, I stand with my people.”
Pastor Javed William said that they are all gathered there for a specific purpose. The two children, who had been arrested, did not commit any mistake in Faisalabad Jaranwala.Â
He mentioned that the arrested two boys are also being punished for their actions, but what those terrorists did was inappropriate as well. 21 churches were set on fire and after looting many homes, they were burned down.
People were forced to leave their homes and hide in fields. At this time, they have neither utensils nor anything to eat, nor anything to wear. The two boys have been arrested over blasphemy charges, but has anyone taken into custody from the attackers’ side? he asked.Â
Pastor Javed William said that we are all Pakistanis. Our identity cards tell us that we are Pakistanis. That’s why we should be given the right to be Pakistanis. We all demand to stand with the oppressed, to step forward to fulfill their needs.
In conclusion, he said that we demand from the government that such incidents will continue to happen until you take action. Do justice with us, as much as this country is yours, it is ours too. We are all one.
