KARACHI: Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry has said that Pakistan was the second country after the Soviet Union to launch its rocket into space.
While addressing the 7th International Symposium at the University of Karachi today, Fawad Chaudhry said that research in Science and Technology has increased by 600 percent in Pakistan.

While addressing the students, he said, “You people are the hope for Pakistan.”
He added, “I would advise you to read philosophical books along with perusing education in your respective degrees.”
The federal minister added that there are many visionary people in Pakistan who think beyond themselves.

He further added that the ones who created Pakistan thought of it as a modern Muslim country.
Fawad Chaudhry also praised the management of the university and said that the whole university should be made a good model of cleanliness.
He added that it was heartening to see the honor of Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman in China.
