Although Matthew Perry’s assistant Briana Brancato was once accused of causing his split from fiancée Molly Hurwitz, his relationship with his assistant was quite unique.
The late Friends star described his special relationship with his assistant Briana Brancato in his memoir ‘Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing’.
According to him, she saved his life and nursed him back to health. He once shared how she whom he referred as ‘Erin’ stayed by his side every night for five months while he was in hospital after his colon exploded.
However, rhe late Friends actor said his relationship with his assistant never turned romantic, but that she quickly became one of his closest companions.
After his death, Briana posted a heartfelt message on social media, along with pictures with Matthew: “I’ve expressed my deepest gratitude to him on numerous occasions, not only for guiding me into a career I cherish but also for allowing me to take care of him for 7 years.”
“Along w [with] the countless other experiences I’m thankful for. From witnessing him in his genius to sharing in his worldly adventures living around the world, he took me on a remarkable journey. My heart is heavy, but celebrating my memories is the most profound way to honor his legacy.”
Matthew Perry, known for his role as Chandler Bing in ‘Friends’, was engaged to Molly Hurwitz in 2020. He told People magazine that she was “the greatest woman on the face of the planet.” However, they broke up just seven months later. Matthew said to People: “Sometimes things just don’t work out and this is one of them, I wish Molly the best.”
Matthew also revealed to GQ magazine why he never settled down. He admitted: “I break up with them because I’m deathly afraid that they will find out that I’m not enough, that I don’t matter, and that I’m too needy, and they’ll break up with me.”
