Pakistani crypto figure Waqar Zaka has claimed a major international win after finishing first in the WEEX TradFi Masters global solo trading tournament, a competition that drew more than 2,000 participants from around the world.
The victory, earned through independent trading rather than team support or referral incentives, has been framed as a strong showing of technical skill across multiple markets.
The tournament reportedly required contestants to trade on their own capital across a wide range of assets, including stocks, gold, silver, commodities and cryptocurrencies.
Starting with $100,000, Zaka is said to have delivered a 74% return over the 20-day contest, finishing ahead of a South Korean trader who placed second with a 57% gain and a Chinese participant who came third with 35%.
To mark the win, Zaka collected his prize in Dubai and received a brand-new 2026 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon.
Organizers also publicly congratulated him on X (formerly Twitter), effectively confirming the result and adding official weight to the announcement.
The win also carries symbolic significance for Pakistan’s trading community.
Zaka is now being described as the first Pakistani trader to win an international multi-asset online trading competition of this scale, adding a high-profile milestone to his already visible role in the country’s digital-asset debate.
It may be recalled here that his profile has long extended beyond trading.
Zaka has been one of Pakistan’s most outspoken advocates for digital assets, pushing the issue since 2016 and later filing a constitutional petition in the Sindh High Court over the legal status of cryptocurrencies. He was also reportedly brought in by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to support blockchain and cryptocurrency initiatives.
