A drone video circulating on social media has sparked controversy after allegedly revealing sexual activities involving male and female students on the rooftop of Okara University.
According to reports, the University of Okara administration responded swiftly by filing a First Information Report (FIR) against a male student and a female drone camera operator for damaging the university’s reputation. The video purportedly shows several students engaging in what are described as immoral acts on the university rooftop.
The FIR specifically names Ali Raza, a BS Zoology student, and the drone camera operators, Ali Shan and Somiyah, along with others who have not been identified. It accuses them of trespassing onto university premises without authorization and using a drone camera to record and subsequently disseminate the footage on social media.
Deputy Registrar Waqar Ahmad, who filed the FIR, expressed concern that the incident has tarnished the university’s image and caused anxiety among students and the broader community. The FIR calls for the arrest of the accused to restore the dignity of the institution.
In response to the incident, the university has taken disciplinary actions, including the suspension of its Public Relations Officer and Security Officer, and the termination of two daily wage employees.
The Deputy Registrar confirmed that initial investigations have begun under the oversight of the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), involving interviews with university officials and staff.
As of now, it remains unclear whether the video footage is authentic or if the activities depicted actually took place on the university rooftop.
