The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) have initiated legal action against YouTuber Ducky Bhai for performing dangerous stunts while driving on the motorway.
In an official statement released on Saturday, a spokesperson for the NHMP said: “The video in question clearly shows a driver violating traffic rules and endangering not only his own life but also that of others. We have taken serious notice of this violation and are proceeding with legal action.”
The spokesperson further added that the video had been geo-located and verified, and that appropriate sections of the law were being invoked in the FIR.
The move comes after a video of the social media influencer went viral, showing him allegedly putting his car on autopilot mode, lying back with his feet on the steering wheel, and appearing to be asleep — all while cruising on a busy highway.
The video, widely circulated on various platforms, drew sharp criticism from the public. Many social media users labelled the stunt “irresponsible and life-threatening,” and called for strict legal action against the YouTuber.
Following widespread condemnation, several citizens lodged formal complaints with the NHMP. Responding to the public outcry, the Motorway Police confirmed that they had registered a case against Ducky Bhai for negligence, reckless driving, and speeding.
This is not the first time influencers have come under scrutiny for creating risky content to attract views. Experts have long raised concerns about the impact of such videos on younger audiences, who may try to emulate similar stunts without fully understanding the consequences.
As of now, Dikki Bhai has not issued any public statement in response to the FIR or the backlash.
